At Kids Island, all Staff works as a team, which greatly reduces the teacher/staff turnover within the centre, making it a stress-free environment for children to grow in. As per the requirements of Ministry of Education, each classroom is regulated by at least one Registered Early Childhood Educator, who posses a recognizable Canadian diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education and College of Early Childhood Educators. Additionally, each class includes Teacher Assistants, in accordance with the requirements set by the Child Care Early Years Act, 2014 (CCEYA). All staff holds current CPR/First Aid certificates, current Police Reference and Vulnerable checks, as well as an up-to-date health record.
Kids Island offers a variety of nutritional food that adhere to the requirements of the Ministry of Health. Our licensed cook, prepares fresh, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks daily in our kitchen. Our menu consists of fruits, vegetables, chicken, fish, dairy products, and grain foods as recommended by the Ontario Ministry of Health. Kids Island offers a hot breakfast, hot lunch, and dinner, along with 2 extra snacks in between. Please note that Kids Island is a nut free environment, and foods brought from outside the centre are not permitted.
Our bright facility is conveniently located on a huge plaza with plenty of parking space. There are security cameras installed at both entrances of the centre. Our daycare has 5 large and bright rooms, with oversized windows that allow for natural light. Kids Island is licensed for a total of 99 children. Each classroom has an air purifier lamp which reduces allergens, odours, mould, germs and other contaminants. The facilities are cleaned 2 times per day to promote sanitation and hygiene.
All children attending Kids Island Daycare Centre have 2 hours of outdoor play, daily. Our playground meets the safety standards in accordance with CSA. The playground is fenced, has a soft rubber cover which greatly reduces injuries, and is inspected on a monthly basis.
